Vidya Balan has recently found herself amidst speculations regarding a supposed secret daughter.

The actress took a stand against body shaming and fashion critics earlier in her career, emphasising that it’s one’s artistry that truly matters.

Now, she faces rumours of a hidden family secret.

The gossip mill started churning after Vidya Balan was spotted at the airport accompanied by a young girl a few days ago.

Social media went abuzz with speculations that this young companion might be Vidya’s secret daughter.

Admirers praised her for maintaining discretion in an era of oversharing on social platforms.

An Instagram user wrote: “I didn’t even know she had a daughter.

“I like the fact that she kept it all away from media attention.”

However, Vidya Balan has decided to set the record straight.

In an interview with Hindustan Times, she revealed that the young girl is not her daughter but rather her sister’s twin daughter, Ira.

Balan further explained that her sister is blessed with twins, a boy named Ruhaan and a girl named Ira.

This clarification should put an end to the ongoing speculation regarding Vidya’s secret family addition.

While Ira may not be Vidya Balan’s daughter, the actress seems to be very close to her.

Over the years she has been vocal about her love for her sister’s kids and also calls them “twin lifelines”.

This is not the first time Vidya Balan has found herself at the centre of rumours.

Last year, during Huma Qureshi‘s birthday celebration, her appearance led to whispers of a possible pregnancy.

Although Vidya looked stunning in a coordinated outfit, some observers noted her manner of walking, which ignited pregnancy rumours.

It appeared as though she was attempting to conceal her abdomen.

Social media went into a frenzy, speculating about a potential baby bump.

Despite the persistent gossip, Vidya Balan continues to be a symbol of grace and strength in the Indian film industry.

On the professional front, Vidya Balan was last seen in the Anu Menon-directed mystery thriller film Neeyat, in which she played a detective.

Neeyat also featured Ram Kapoor, Prajakta Koli, and Amrita Puri among others.

The film marked Vidya’s theatrical comeback after four years.

Before Neeyat, her last theatre outing was in 2019 with the film Mission Mangal, headlined by Akshay Kumar.

She will next be seen in the film Lovers, co-starring Ileana D’Cruz and Prateik Gandhi.

As always, audiences eagerly anticipate Vidya Balan’s performances, known for their versatility and depth.
