A man has been charged with murdering his mother and stepfather after the couple were found dead at their home.

Anmol Chana, 25, was due to appear in court tomorrow morning, Thursday, February 27, accused of killing Jasbir Kaur, 52, and her husband Rupinder Singh Bassan, 51.

The couple were found dead at their home in Moat Road, Oldbury, at around 4am on Tuesday, February 25.

oncerns were raised for their welfare.

They were pronounced dead at the scene and had suffered serious injuries. Post-mortem examinations are due to be held on Thursday to establish the precise cause of death.

Chana was arrested a short time after the discovery, at his home in Hamilton Road, Smethwick.

He was charged with the murders on the afternoon of Wednesday, February 26, and will appear at Birmingham Magistrates’ Court tomorrow morning.

The couple’s Toyota Aygo, which had disappeared from their home, was found on Wednesday morning in Smethwick after a member of the public responded to a West Midlands Police appeal to track down the car.
