An Indian wife jumped from the seventh floor of her apartment block in Ghaziabad after she was unable to bear the loss of her husband.

According to an official, the tragic incident took place the moment the man’s body was brought back to the house from the hospital.

The incident was reported at around 9 pm on February 26, 2024, from the high-rise Alcon Apartment in the Vaishali area of the city.

Abhishek and Anjali had only got married in November 2023.

A police official explained that the couple had visited Delhi Zoo on February 26.

However, Abhishek fell ill and was rushed to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital. He was then referred to Safdarjung Hospital in South Delhi.

Anjali stood vigil beside her husband’s hospital bed for some time.

After a few hours by her husband’s bedside, she returned to her home in Ghaziabad, while her husband’s condition remained uncertain.

He underwent treatment, however, his health took a turn for the worse. Abhishek’s health deteriorated further.

Despite the efforts of the medical team, Abhishek sadly passed away.

His cause of death was identified as a heart attack.

After completing all legal formalities, Abhishek’s body was handed over to the relatives who took him to Alcon Apartment in Ghaziabad.

Upon hearing her husband had died, Anjali’s world shattered. The cause of death only added to the profound sense of loss and disbelief that enveloped her.

Relatives at the property said Abhishek’s body lay on the living room floor.

Meanwhile, Anjali sat beside her dead husband and cried profusely.

The reality that her husband was dead soon became too much to bear for the Indian wife.

She abruptly stood up and without warning, she ran towards the balcony and jumped off the balcony.

Officers arrived at the scene and launched an investigation.

During a preliminary inquiry, it was revealed that Anjali had been taken to Max Hospital in Vaishali.

At the hospital, her injuries resulted in her death.

DCP Patil said: “Her condition was critical yesterday night after which she was referred to Safdarjung Hospital.

“Today we have received information that the woman has succumbed to her injuries. Further legal action will be taken accordingly.”
