Mahhi Vij throws shade at people who capture their charity during this pandemic on camera
Mahhi Vij has spoken about what she feels about people documenting their charity on camera and putting on social media. She says she has come from up a middle class home.
Mahhi Vij and Jay Bhanushali have not had an easy time of late, especially with regards to online trolls. They have been involved in quite some fan war during and after Bigg Boss 13. Some time back, they made a comment on how charity is not something people should document on video and post on social media. This happened after Paras Chhabra and Mahira Sharma went on a donation drive and shared videos of the same. The fans of these two contestants did not spare Mahhi and Jay on social media. The Twitter fight ended up getting quite abusive before it ended.
Mahhi Vij told Hindustan Times, “A lot of people said in articles ‘aap khud toh kuchh karte nahi ho, AC mein baithe rehte ho’(You don’t do anything but only sit with the AC on). We sit in the AC because we have worked hard for it. When I was doing Laagi Tujhse Lagan, I had to paint my face for 22 hours; the AC didn’t come just like that. I come from a middle-class family, I never had one at my home, which is why I can sit and even then donate. I don’t have to show people ‘I am doing this’.”
Mahhi further told the publication, “You want to contribute to society? Do it, but you don’t have to take a camera and show ‘main itne de raha/rahi hoon’ (I’m contributing this much).”
The actress opened up to BollywoodLife about motherhood on the occasion of Mother’s Day. She told us, “No, I had two kids Khushi and Rajveer before Tara. Khushi will always be my first-born. I do not take it like a pressure. I feel you learn with experience. It is all about loving, sharing, caring and nurturing.” Paras Chhabra had earlier lashed out saying he had enough work and did not need publicity from showcasing his charity on social media.
