ABirmingham pub paid tribute to the late Sidhu Moose Wala by unveiling a statue of the singer.
The Royal Oak pub in Handsworth unveiled the statue on March 22, 2023.
Fans of the late singer gathered to witness the first glimpse of the statue, situated on a platform above the entrance.
The vast turnout resulted in some cars blocking the busy Holyhead Road.
They filmed the moment as the cover was gradually removed.
Meanwhile, some of Sidhu Moose Wala’s hit tracks were playing in the background.
The reveal was met with cheers from the crowd.
The statue depicted the singer sitting inside a yellow and red HMT 5911 tractor, which was Sidhu’s favourite vehicle, often featuring in his songs.
It also had the Union Jack and Indian flags, highlighting how popular Sidhu was in both nations.
The tractor even featured a working horn, adding more authenticity to the statue.
Labour Councillor Rinkal Shergill encouraged locals to see the statue. She tweeted:
“The Royal Oak pub pays tribute to Sidhu Moose Wala who was a famous international singer who was killed in Punjab last year.
“Statue and tractor on display outside – please visit Holyhead in the coming days to view.”
Fans on social media loved the tribute to the late singer, who was shot dead in the Mansa district of Punjab in May 2022.
One user wrote: “Looks amazing.”
